The Air Jordan 5 Black Grape turned heads when it released in 2013. Soft black nubuck is seen on the upper. Grape and Aqua are found on the midsole and tongue and blend together nicely. When released June 15, 2013, many sneakerheads lined up to cop a pair. It debut alongside the retro release of the Air Jordan5 Grape.

Jordan Brand decided to bring a new look to the Air Jordan 5 with their Black Grape sneaker. Arriving shortly after the drop of the retro release of the Air Jordan 5 Grape, the Black Grapes dropped. The same purple and emerald are featured on the sneaker, but matched with a black nubuck. Applauded as a new-age take on a classic look, the sneaker had quite a bit of buzz in 2013. It also helped that Jordan Brand (possibly unintentionally) made 2013, the year of the Air Jordan 5.
